Halves of the Sun
Checked 2026-10-14 · Update 15.0
Elastic Captain (Cog 5th) needs one Left Half and one Right Half of the Sun. The two halves have separate documented routes and should not be merged into one drop.
Separate routes for each half
The Left Half route uses Compass Pose with Tempest Pirate (Navigator): the Flower Country personal highlighted stage can drop a Treasure Map at 10%, with pity at 15; the map leads to the left half. The historical Gold Shop Item Finder route and Sand Village Act 4 digging note are also documented.
The Right Half route is tied to the Pirate Dynasty Bounty Hunter encounter and the Floating Island Boss Event rhythm interaction. The checked sources describe defeating Beast Pirate after the event interaction for the right half.
Cog 5th requirement and Update 15 boundary
Evolving Elastic Captain (Cog 4th) into Cog 5th requires one Left Half and one Right Half, 100 Green Essence, 50 each of Blue, Yellow, Purple, Pink and Red Essence, five Rainbow Essence and 100,000 Gold. The evolution source does not allow one half to substitute for the other.
Update 15 moved the old Story exclusive drops from Acts 2 through 6 into Act 1. The checked evidence does not document how the former Act 4 digging trigger maps to the new Act 1 layout, so this page does not instruct players to dig a specific new act.
Source review: 14 October 2026. Quest, event and evolution sources agree on one of each half; Update 15 changed the Story Act structure.
